The Restaurant Association is dedicated to ensuring a thriving a diverse hospitality industry and building a future for the next generation of hospitality professionals has never been more important.
Including rangatahi (young people/younger generation) in the conversation and providing the tools to help them learn about our industry in ways they will find accessible, engaging, inspiring and challenging is a critical component to attracting new people into our workforce and ensuring a flourishing, inclusive industry
The Engaging Rangatahi initiative aims to connect with those in the industry that represent the future, those with visions and drive to grow our industry, possibly in their own way, to help guide us and collectively we can create a better future for everyone.
One of the first actions we need to take is to elect a Rangatahi Advisory Board, to kick this off, we are actively seeking nominations and self-nominations for the role of chairperson for the Leadership Group. This role will be responsible for running meetings, coordinating ideas and working with the RA executive to archive the goals of the charter. We are looking for self-motivated individuals that are passionate about the industry and want to take part in the organisation and encouragement of the next new generation of the industry, the only requirement to sit on the group or hold the chair is to be 30 years old or under and currently be working in hospitality.
