Hospitality community coming together for Cooking up a Storm cyclone relief dinner

posted on

The Restaurant Association and Al Brown are inviting the hospitality community to come together, to ‘cook up a storm’ for the cyclone relief effort.

We know many members are looking at ways to help fellow businesses and people impacted by the floods and cyclone, so we are inviting businesses to join us to create the country’s biggest ever dinner party.

This cyclone fundraising event will see the country sitting down on 20 March at 7pm, to ‘eat up and do good’ .

Our vision is for participating restaurants, cafes, pubs, and eateries up and down the country to open their doors on this evening, put on a two-course menu, and assist with raising funds to help those most in need.

Al’s idea is for simple menus, focusing on favourites and comfort food to nurture the nation’s soul through its stomachs. For your diners it will be just like they were coming around to a good friend’s for dinner.

This is a way for our industry to make a difference in a meaningful way, with donations going to the regional Mayoral Funds. A portion of the proceeds will also go directly to our hospitality whanau impacted by the recent weather events.
