For the foodie adventurer, become a guest chef for the day, by helping to bring to life the celebration dinner on Sunday 20 August. This year, Samir Allen from Metro Top 50 Restaurant 2017 Gemmayze St will create a gastronomic Lebanese menu, preceded by an exclusive tasting of Lebanese wines.
Savouring and Tasting Wine
Join top New Zealand wineries as they pour a selection of new releases and discuss their innovative wine styles. Experts Joelle Thomson and Michael Jemison will offer free wine masterclasses during these sessions and focus on international aromatic white wines.
New Zealand Sommelier and Junior Sommelier of the Year competition
NZSFW will again host the New Zealand Sommelier and Junior Sommelier of the Year competition. Talented professionals working in hotels and restaurants around the country will put their wine knowledge and service skills to the test. You can observe the fanfare of the finalists opening a bottle of Champagne Louis Roederer as they vie to impress the judges between 2 – 4pm on Sunday 20 August.
