HospoCred application – training requirements

Providing the details of ongoing professional development undertaken by the owner / manager, as well as employees in the business, is part of Step 1 of the HospoCred online application process. Completion of Employment New Zealand’s employment e-learning modules for employers is also a requirement of this Step.

  • You will need to provide details of the professional development undertaken by both the owner / manager and employees as part of the online application.
  • You can find out more about the Restaurant Association’s upcoming training here and on demand training / recordings here.
  • You can access Employment New Zealand’s employment e-learning modules here. There are 8 modules: An introduction to your employment obligations, Working arrangements (employer), Employment agreements (employer), Pay and Wages (employer), Hours of work (employer), Annual Leave/Holidays (employer), Other Leave (employer), Resolving problems (employer). Once you complete the module, you will be issued with a certificate that you can download and provide as part of the HospoCred application form.
  • All information provided as part of the online application form will be kept completely confidential and used only as part of reviewing the application for member accreditation.
  • No details will ever be shared with any other parties.

Evidence of professional development / training

Owner / Manager: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

You will need to supply details of at least 5 sessions (a minimum of 10 hours) of professional development training (either live or on demand) undertaken by the owner / manager over the past year. Suitable options include:

  • Mental Health First Aid (live only)
  • Wellness in the workplace
  • Developing a sales focus: Helping your team become sales superstars
  • Toxic team: Preventing and managing issues
  • Established managers
  • Hiring success: Attract and retain top talent
  • Helpline: Restructures & redundancy
  • Team talk: Team development and creating a good team fit
  • Conquering costings, stock controls & menu engineering
  • Helpline: Disciplinary – Bullying & harassment
Employee: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Please supply details of external professional development training (either live or on demand) undertaken by employees in the business over the past year (the requirement per employee, is a minimum of 2 hours external training).

Employers must show a commitment to ongoing training / professional development of their teams.
