Got a customer with a Restaurant Gift Card?

Restaurant Gift Cards have several different designs and can come in different denominations.

Customers with these cards are prompted to go to dinefind.co.nz to find venues that accept them. Make sure you are set up and listed as taking them, and keep your information up to date.

Step 1:

These steps can be done by either the customer or a staff member.
Make sure you process the card at time of payment.
If processing the payment yourself, take the card from the customer.

Step 2:

Scratch off the pin cover on the reverse side of the card
Swipe through eftpos machine

Step 3:

Select “Credit”
Enter the PIN number (on the back of the card) and hit enter

If the payment is accepted the eftpos terminal will display accepted

That’s it, easy!

Details:

Do not accept expired cards for processing later. The gift cards are a partnership with epay-Gift Station and their expiry policy is that expired gift cards cannot be redeemed for payment.
You must be setup to accept the plastic gift cards. If you change you eftpos terminal or merchant account you need to update us with the new numbers or the cards will not be accepted.
Customers are able to check their balance and expiry date by following the instructions on the back of the card.
All reimbursements are made by e-pay weekly on Fridays.
Acceptance of RA Restaurant Gift Cards is optional but highly recommended. Accepting the gift cards adds an extra flag on your dinefind.co.nz listing and signals to diners looking to use their cards they can come to you.
