The Hospitality Dashboard is a monthly snapshot of the industry, covering key data, initiatives led by the industry over the month, member commentary, future considerations and the common pain points.

  • Concern about wage subsidy ending – for both employers & consumers
  • Potential restructuring at the conclusion of wage subsidy
  • Trading over the school holidays generally better than expected

Actions led by the industry this month:

  • Held first meeting of COVID-19 Hospitality Recovery Taskforce
    Dedicated Recovery Taskforce webpage set up:

  • Letter sent to Ministers of Finance, Small Business and Commerce
    advocating for extension of the wage subsidy
  • Meeting with Small Business Minister on COVID-19 effect on
    hospitality, with follow up letter calling for lease support
  • Supported TIA letter to Prime Minister advocating for extension of
    the wage subsidy
  • Liz Buttimore (Marlborough Branch President) appointed to the
    Marlborough Regional Skills Leadership Group
  • Association registered 4 services under Regional Business
    Partners, including three COVID-19 hospitality specific offerings
  • Hosted 16 COVID-19 webinars or professional development
    webinars
  • 20+ members helped by the Association’s Business Mentor
  • HospoStart programme run for 25 people looking to enter hospo
  • Launched FoodHui 2020 – scheduled for 19-20 October, Te Papa
  • Restaurant Association Election 2020 Manifesto published
